Ukrainian Foreign Minister: Putin won't agree to peace in Donbas

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin considers it impossible to reach an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin on a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbas, reports Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

"I believe that it is impossible to conclude an agreement with Putin on a conflict settlement in the Donbas. At the same time, I say that we need situational agreement on a ceasefire, on ending the war. But it is impossible to make an agreement because Putin doesn't want Ukraine to be the country, we want it to be" - said Klimkin at a public discussion of the Foreign Ministry with war veterans in Kyiv on July 25.

The Foreign Minister noted that Russia wants to impose the idea of federalization of Ukraine as one of the realistic scenarios for resolving the conflict.
