SBU detains Deputy of LPR People’s Council who came to collect Ukrainian pension
Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), who take part in the military operation in the Donbas, detained the Deputy of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) in the Luhansk region, the press-service of the SBU reports.
According to the SBU, a resident of the city of Khrustalny (before – Krasnyi Luch) in the Luhansk region, joined illegal armed groups where he was elected a deputy of the so-called People’s Council.
“Operatives of the special service documented that the perpetrator supported Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and facilitated separatist activities of the illegal armed groups, in particular, co-financed certain groups”, the statement reads.
The Ukrainian special service said that the representative of the LPR planned to come to the territory of the Donbas, which is under control of the Ukrainian authorities, to collect Ukrainian pension. The man was detained at one of the checkpoints when crossing the demarcation line.
The detainee was arrested and was informed of the charges against him.
