Mogherini to Lavrov: The fighting in Ukraine should be stopped
During a telephone conversation with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, stressed the need to stop the fighting in eastern Ukraine immediately, the European External Action Service reported.
"Mogherini and Lavrov discussed the escalation of violence in the east of Ukraine in detail. The High Representative – Vice-President of the European Commission stressed the need to stop the fighting immediately, and to work on the full implementation of the Minsk agreements," the statement of the European side read.
Earlier, the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, called Russia to use its influence on the separatists to stop the escalation of the conflict in Avdiivka.
