Separatist DPR opens its ‘representative office’ in France

Separatists of the DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) announced the official opening of their representative office in Marseille, France, which took place on September 25th.

According to Radio Liberty, on September 21st, a representative of Europe and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the so-called representation of separatists from eastern Ukraine in France is not officially recognized by the authorities of the country and has no diplomatic status. The French Foreign Ministry also stated that despite the fact that the purpose of the association is illegal, the Ministry sent relevant information to the Republic's prosecutor.

This is the fifth European country where the representatives of the DPR have tried to open their representative offices. Earlier it was in Greece, Finland, and Italy, and the first of all of the new embassies was opened in the Czech Ostrava, where, according to the decision of the regional court, it was closed. However, this is the first time this has happened in France - the country that is a member of the "Norman four" and a signatory of the Minsk Agreements’ guarantee.
