Netanyahu: Russia does not intend to interfere with Israel's actions in Syria

After the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place on May 9 in Moscow, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had no reason to worry that Russia would interfere with Israel's actions in Syria.

As reported on the Kremlin website, during a meeting with Netanyahu, Putin intended to talk   about bilateral relations between Israel and Russia, as well as problems in the region. "The situation, unfortunately, is very acute. I want to express the hope that we will not only discuss with you, but also look for solutions that would lead to a shift in the situation, would help us find ways to resolve acute conflicts, " the Russian President said.

In turn, the head of the Israeli Cabinet said he appreciates the opportunity to discuss with Putin and "think together" how to "properly act in the region" and remove the threat that exists "in a responsible and reasonable manner". Netanyahu noted that, although the Holocaust took place 73 years ago, Iran “openly calls for the destruction of the State of Israel”. "But there is a difference between what was then [during the Second World War] and what is today. Today we have our own country," Netanyahu said.

The Prime Minister of Israel arrived in Moscow on May 9. He attended the Victory Parade on Red Square, took part in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
On the night of May 9, the Israeli warplanes attacked the suburbs of Damascus. They targeted the facilities belonging to the Iranian Forces and Iranian-backed militia.
