Zelensky: I am ready to shake hands with Putin hundred times when he returns Crimea
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in the broadcast of the "Pravo na Vladu" program on 1+1 TV channel that he is ready to "shake hands a hundred times" with Russian President Vladimir Putin when he returns the annexed Crimea to Ukraine.
"If tomorrow we get our land back, temporarily occupied Donbas, I can shake hands with Putin ten times. And if we get the Crimea back, and it will happen one day, I am ready to shake his hand a hundred times," said Zelensky.
A meeting of the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, France, and Germany was held in Paris on December 9. The Ukrainian President also held bilateral meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Zelensky said he was preparing to discuss the Crimean issue with Putin, but during the bilateral meeting, the conversation did not come to that point.
The Ukrainian President, speaking at a joint press conference after the Normandy Four meeting in Paris, pointed to the principles that are inviolable for Ukraine and its people. In particular, he noted that both the Donbas and the Crimea annexed by Russia belong to Ukraine.
