Head of DPR Zakharchenko threatens to open fire on the UN mission
If the UN mission is deployed in the Donbas without consent of the DPR authorities, the DPR military will have to open fire on the UN peacekeepers , said the head of Donetsk People’s Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko.
“The UN mission will not enter here without the consent of the DPR. Otherwise… they will become targets. We will just have one more enemy. The more enemies we have, the easier it is to shoot; no need to aim,” he stated.
During recent meetings in the Normandy format, consensus regarding the deployment of the peacekeeping mission in the Donbas was not reached. Russia categorically refuses to let even the observers of the OSCE enter the parts of the borders not controlled by Ukraine.
