Volker: US to hold consultations with Germany and France on Donbas

US Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker said that representatives of the United States, Germany, and France are planning to hold "Normandy format" consultations  at the beginning of next week, reports Voice of America.

Volker noted that he is in close contact with European partners on this issue.

The Joint Operation Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on August 10 that one Ukrainian military was killed and another was wounded because of the military activity in the Donbas.

After the death of four Ukrainian soldiers in the Donbas on August 6, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and asked him " to influence the other side." The press service of Zelensky reported that the parties also discussed the need to hold a meeting in the Normandy format with the participation of the heads of four countries – Ukraine, Russia, Germany, and France.
