Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council approves main scenario of Donbas reintegration

During a press conference after the Ukrainian National Security and Defense (NSDC) council meeting headed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on December 7, the NSDC's Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said that the main scenario for the reintegration of the Donbas territories that are temporarily not controlled by Kyiv was chosen.

"Today at a meeting of the NSDC, we approved one of the scenarios which will be implemented as the main one. The reintegration envisages bringing back to Ukraine the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. There are key points on the agenda," said Danilov.

The NSDC Secretary noted that the second discussed issue was the territorial defense of Ukraine. Serhiy Krivonos was appointed responsible for the territorial defense.

"The second issue that was discussed is the issue related to territorial defense. Krivonos was appointed responsible for this direction. The situation related to this issue should be resolved by December 31. And we understand that everyone who today has the desire to join the territorial defense, all volunteers who have the desire to participate in it, will be involved soon," said Danilov.

Also, during the NSDC meeting, the issue of national cybersecurity was discussed. Danilov added that Ukraine faces cyber-attacks every day.

"The third issue that was discussed is the issue of cybersecurity. Cybersecurity is a crucial issue today. We experience daily attacks from certain territories on our cyberspace," he added.

According to NSCD Secretary, "unanimous decision was made on these three issues."
