Speaker of Ukrainian Parliament calls on the Black Sea countries to respond to Russian aggression

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Andriy Parubiy, called on the countries of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) to unite against "Russian aggression," at the opening of the 50th meeting of the PABSEC General Assembly in Kyiv, 12 Ukraine reports.

"The philosophy of our activity is to promote the development of economic cooperation, to promote the development of our states, and, accordingly, the well-being of our citizens. And when one of the PABSEC member countries conducts an aggressive policy, deploys occupation forces on the territory of Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine, this undermines the very foundation, and I emphasize once again, the very philosophy of the activities of our organization. And all of us together should give an adequate response to such actions of the aggressor country," the Chairman of the Ukrainian parliament said.

He also recalled that the leading states of the world imposed sanctions on Russia, and stated the need to continue using restrictive measures "until the full restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine in accordance with the norms of international law."

It should be noted that the meeting of the PABSEC General Assembly is taking place without the participation of Russia, which did not receive an invitation from Ukraine, the host country.
