Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine: Russian Grads involved in bombardment of Novoluhanske
The Russian Armed Forces were involved in the bombardment of the Novoluhanske settlement in the Donetsk province, as stated by Andriy Lysenko, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, on Facebook.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the bombardment of Novoluhanske was carried out by the Grad multiple rocket launcher systems that were stationed in Horlivka. At least 40 projectiles were fired on the settlement.
Lysenko reports that DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) militants were directly responsible for the shelling. However, an investigative group has established that the Russian Armed Forces were complicit in it.
After the bombardment, fragments Grad shells and engines were found with markings which, according to the Defense Ministry, have never been on weapons belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On December 18, militants opened fire on Novoluhanske with Grad multiple rocket launcher systems. Eight civilians were injured as a result, including a 6 year-old child. Dozens of buildings in the city were also destroyed.
