Yelchenko insists Israeli settlements in the occupied territories contradict international law

Referring to the EU Security Council's resolution that called for the abandonment of the construction of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, Volodymyr Yelchenko, stated on December 25 that such construction violates international law.

“The Israeli settlements in the occupied territories contradict international law like Russia’s occupation of the Crimea,” the permanent representative said.

It was previously reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu canceled a scheduled visit by Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman for next week.
