Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister: More Russian soldiers have arrived in the Donbas
Russian military forces continue to arrive in the territories of the Donbas that are not controlled by Kiev. This, as Interfax-Ukraine reports, was stated by the Ukrainian Vice-Prime Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsa
"Russian soldiers are arriving in the Donbas by turns, on a rotational basis, in small groups from among the personnel of their brigades and divisions. They mainly occupy the positions in the second and third lines of defense and in the enemy’s rear. They hold most of the command posts, work with complex military equipment and weapons, and act as retreat-blocking detachments,” she reported. Klympush-Tsintsa
Armed confrontation between the Ukrainian security forces and separatists of the self-proclaimed republics of the Donbas began in April, 2014. According to recent UN data 9,553 people have been killed and 22,137 people have been injured during the battles in the east of Ukraine. About two thousand of the dead were civilians.
Russia has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict and does not send regular troops to the territory of Ukraine.
