The large-scale military exercises that have recently been conducted by the Russian army are also taking place in the occupied Donbas.

This was stated in a report from the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

According to the report, command-staff exercises of the 1st (Donetsk) and 2nd (Luhansk) Army Corps (AC) of the Center of the Territorial Forces (Novocherkassk) of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation continue on the Perevalskiy and Uspensky training grounds, and also included the units of the 7th (Debaltseve) and 4th (Alchevsk) separate motorized infantry brigades of the 2nd AC, training for the conduct of offensive combat.

In the area of Novoazovsk, units from the 9th separate assault motorized rifle regiment of marines (Novoazovsk) of the 1st AC of the Russian Armed Forces trained for combat operations in defense, including organizing anti-airborne defense of the coast. The roles of the imaginary enemy were given to units from the separate assault battalion (Makiivka) of the 1st AC and to the 9th reconnaissance company, training for crossing water obstacles and amphibious assault.

Intelligence also reported the transfer of munitions, fuels and lubricants from the territory of the Russian Federation. On September 6, railway cars with 80 tons of ammunition and four tanks with fuels and lubricants (200 tons) arrived in the village of Kuteynikovo.

The Ukrainian side provided information to representatives from the Special Monitoring Mission OSCE about the presence of tanks and self-propelled guns near Horlivka, Kalinove, Donetsk and Ilovaisk.

According to the report, the confirmed Russian losses amounted to two wounded soldiers from the 11th separate motorized rifle regiment (Makiivka) of the 1st AC of the Russian Armed Forces as a result of explosion of an anti-personnel mine that was installed on the front edge of the regiment by sappers from the separate reconnaissance battalion (Donetsk) of the 1st AC of the Russian Armed Forces, without any warning or appropriate signage in the area.

Intelligence also added that Russian special services promote the intimidation of citizens in the occupied territories and are working to inhibit the growth of pro-Ukrainian sentiments.
