Ukrainian government to present strategy for de-occupation of the Donbas and Crimea

The strategy for the de-occupation of Ukrainian territories, which are not controlled by Kyiv, will be discussed on the 31st of August at a government meeting. This discussion will pay special attention to certain regions in Donetsk and Luhansk, as well as to the Crimea. According to Ukrainski Novyny, this statement was made by the Deputy Minister of Ukraine on the issues of the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons, Georgiy Tuka.

“If everything goes according to the plan, I hope to have this strategy presented to the Cabinet on Wednesday,” Tuka said this on the 29th of August while on air with Svoboda Slova (Freedom of Speech) TV program on Ukraine’s ICTV channel.

According to Tuka, the presentation of the strategy will take place behind closed doors.

The documents included in the presentation will also remain secret. However, the “road map” will be made public after it has been approved by the government.

According to UNIAN news agency, Tuka had previously said that the presentation will not discuss the return of the Donbas by military means.
