Ukrainian diplomat Lubkivskiy said Ukraine should have a clear strategy to return the temporarily occupied territories
The Ukrainian leadership has no clear plan or strategy on what to do with the occupied territories, said the coordinator of the "Spravedlyvist" movement, the diplomat Markiyan Lubkivskiy on ZIK TV.
He stressed that the public should be given a clear answer on how the Donbas will be returned and in which way: political, economic, military, and humanitarian or whichever combination of all of these factors.
"A process of conflict settlement in the Donbass should be carried out more dynamically and Ukraine should become part of this process, an active participant, as it was done in Croatia. Croatia was even in more difficult conditions because it did not have its own statehood, did not have this support as Ukraine has today. Moreover, there was an embargo on the import of weapons," Lubkivskiy said.
He believes that if Ukraine demonstrates the political will to restore economic potential and to overcome corruption, the people of the occupied territories will return to Ukraine. It is necessary to repair roads and hospitals, which the people feel must be the concern of the state.
"We often go there with my colleague, friend and political partner, Valentyn Nalyvaichenko to help our warriors. Where are the repaired roads; where are the restored hospitals? So, the people can see the difference. We are currently implementing projects, including with Gennadiy Druzenko, who heads the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital (PFVMH). If people see that here is better, safer and quieter then they really will come back," the coordinator of the "Spravedlyvist" movement said.
