Ukraine's Samopomich party complained to the General Prosecutor’s office about the disengagement of forces in eastern Ukraine
The Samopomich (“self-reliance”) Party has submitted a criminal complaint to the Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s with respect to the Minsk agreements and disengaging of the forces in a number of areas in the Donbas, as reported on the party’s website.
"We saw a number of violations of the Ukrainian Constitution and the Criminal Code at the time the Minsk Agreements were signed. That’s why we also turn to the General Prosecutor’s Office with a claim regarding the crime under article 353, “unauthorized usurpation of power,” Taras Pastukh, a member of Parliament said.
MPs from the Samopomich party also appealed to President Petro Poroshenko demanding to know who authorized to hold these negotiations on behalf of Ukraine and sign new Minsk Agreements and who gave an order on the withdrawal of the forces in the East of Ukraine.
On the 21st of September, the participants of the Tripartite Contact Group signed a framework document on the withdrawal of troops and weapons in the Donbas along three areas: settlements of Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrivske. A prerequisite for the withdrawal of troops and weapons in the Donbas was to respect the ceasefire in those areas for seven days. The disengagement of forces implies a withdrawal from positions on both sides at least for two kilometers.
Earlier, the disengagement of forces took place only in the area of Zolote, on Friday it was enacted in the district of Petrivske. On October 9th, the withdrawal is planned to take place in Stanytsia Luhanska.
