Klimkin does not exclude imposing martial law if situation in the Donbas continues to deteriorate

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pavlo Klimkin, stated during the program Freedom of Speech, that "First, regarding Martial Law... Should the security situation continue to deteriorate, I am not excluding the imposition of martial law," At the same time, he added that certain countries can be at war without the imposition of martial law.

"Being in a state of war, the imposition of martial law, and Russian aggression are different notions. Russian aggression is already an issue which is much bigger than war because Russian aggression includes not only military means but, by definition, all means - military and hybrid," the Minister added.

Klimkin noted that Russian aggression has been recognized in a resolution by the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of Europe.

Earlier it was reported that the Petro Poroshenko Bloc party does not exclude the imposition of Martial Law in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions should the situation deteriorate further.
