More than 2,000 amendments have been submitted to the draft law on Donbas reintegration

The People's Deputy from Petro Poroshenko Bloc political party and Presidential representative to the Verkhovna Rada, Iryna Lutsenko, stated on Inter TV, that to date, more than 2,000 amendments to the draft law on the reintegration of the Donbas have been submitted to the National Security Committee.

"To date, the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defense, headed by Serhiy Pashynsky, has received more than 2,000 amendments to this law," she said.

According to her, a significant part of these amendments are not related to the document and are in conflict with its principles. The bill may be put to vote in one plenary week.

"On November 6th, a committee will be held to consider these amendments...The consideration of this bill and the resumption of work on the proposed amendments will probably continue on November 8th. I think that at the end of the second plenary week (November 13-19), it will be brought to the Verkhovna Rada, if the people's deputies have time to discuss it," she informed.

The People's Deputy added that haste in working on such an important document is inappropriate.

On October 6th, the Verkhovna Rada passed draft law No. 7163 "On the peculiarities of the state policy for securing the state sovereignty of Ukraine over the temporarily occupied territories in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions" with 233 votes in the first reading. The reference to the Minsk Agreements was removed from it.
