Medical humanitarian aid from France arrives in Donbas
The United Force operation press service reported that humanitarian medical supplies worth over UAH 2.1 million or approximately $77,777, sent from France, will be received by military and civilian medical institutions in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
“On January 3rd, 2019, according to planned activities, humanitarian cargo for medical purposes in the amount of more than 2.1 million UAH arrived from France. After distributing the orthoses, medical furniture and equipment, medical clothes and hygiene products for patients, other supplies will go to military and civilian medical institutions of the Donetsk and Luhansk areas,” reads the message.
Assistance is provided through the strategic humanitarian initiative of the Ukrainian Joint Forces Command “Help East.” This is a multi-disciplinary program aimed at helping peaceful citizens in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The project united military, civil and military administrations, humanitarian, transport, and charity organizations.
One of the primary aims is providing humanitarian aid to unprotected people, the sick, the disabled, and children. Therefore, philanthropists in uniform are waiting, in part, at the Kramatorsk children’s home “Antoshka” and the Kramatorsk maternity hospital.
As of right now, more than 4 million hryvnias or approximately $147 058 have been provided for medical and geriatric institutions, for the supply of medical equipment and furniture, for chairs for the disabled, and other necessities for doctors and patients in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In December, the European Union allocated an additional 4 million euros to Ukraine for humanitarian aid to people who live in the territories of Donbas not controlled by Kyiv.
