Media: Ukrainian special services are looking for dirt on Prime Minister Groysman
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has begun to search for compromising information on the country's Prime Minister, Volodymyr Groysman, the Obozrevatel news outlet reports referring to unnamed sources.
According to their information, this happened after the head of the Ukrainian government announced the beginning of the fight against corruption at the Ukrainian customs. "In fact, those who directed the smuggling flows, realizing that they are losing money, want to incriminate the prime minister and his family, using special services," the newspaper writes.
The SBU sent a letter to the Zhytomyr customs office demanding that they provide information on the Mercedes GLE 350D car purchased by the Prime Minister’s wife, Olena Groysman in 2017. After the car was bought, information in the media appeared to indicate that the car was not listed in the Prime Minister’s income declaration but later it turned out that this was not the case.
Earlier in June, Groysman himself publicly stated that smear campaign is being prepared against him.
