Macron promises to discuss attack on Ukrainian soldiers with Putin

The press service of the French President, following his conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reported that French President Emmanuel Macron wants to achieve quick results  in the Normandy format negitiations, and promises to discuss the death of four Ukrainian soldiers in the Donbas with Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

"Emmanuel Macron assured President Zelensky that France is fully committed to achieving concrete results in a short time within the framework of the Normandy format. French President said that he will raise this topic during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 19," reads the message of the press service.

The French President expressed condolences in connection with the death of four Ukrainian soldiers in the Donbas.

Macron also noted that Ukraine "acted in a constructive manner" and stressed "the need to build on the success achieved in recent weeks."

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called Macron to discuss  the death of the Ukrainian soldiers in the Donbas. Also, the President of Ukraine informed Macron about his conversation with Vladimir Putin. Zelensky appealed to the Normandy four to resume negotiations in connection with the attack on the Ukrainian army.
