Herashchenko to submit amendments to the bill on Reintegration of Donbas
The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Iryna Herashchenko, indicated that on October 17th she will propose amendments to the bill on the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories of the Donbas.
"What will I do? I will put forth amendments to the bill on reintegration, which my lawyers, together with public activists, worked on during the last week," she wrote on her Facebook page.
On October 6th, the People's Deputy of Ukraine and head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine prior to the vote on the bill regarding policy specifics on ensuring sovereignty in the Donbas (No. 7163), called for introducing standards on the de-occupation of the Crimea in the second reading.
On October 6th, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the bill on the specifics of the policy to ensuring sovereignty in the Donbas (No. 7163).
On October 4th, the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, submitted a bill to the Verkhovna Rada that outlined the state policy specifics on securing the state sovereignty of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territories in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The bill, among other things, proposes to determine a legal regime in the regions of the Donbas where Ukrainian authorities do not operate. The Ukrainian Parliament was offered another bill on the peaceful settlement of the situation in the Donbas and an alternative to the bill (No. 7163-1) proposed by the people's deputies, in particular from the Self-Reliance and the Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, Oksana Syroyid.
