Four Ukrainian soldiers killed in Donbas

Four Ukrainian servicemen were killed today, August 6, as a result of shelling in the Donbas, reported the speaker of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Dmytro Gutsulyak.

"We are saddened to report that as a result of enemy shelling, according to the available information, today four of our heroes received injuries incompatible with life," he said.

According to Gutsulyak, the militants carried out shelling near the settlements of Bohdanivka and Pavlopil. The militants initially opened fire at about 00:45 am (Kyiv time) and for an hour fired at Ukrainian positions from BMP armored vehicles, grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms. The second attack using rocket-propelled grenade was recorded at 10:20 a.m.

The press service the Ukrainian Joint Forces Operation later specified that the deceased soldiers were the fighters of one of the units of a separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Belinsky.

"On August 6, the armed formations of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries once again cynically violated the decision of the Trilateral Contact Group to establish a ceasefire. As a result of enemy shelling, in the area of Pavlopil, four soldiers of one of the units of a separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Belinsky were fatally injured. The United Forces Command expresses its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the fallen servicemen," the statement reads.
