US puts more Russian companies and individuals on sanctions list over Syria and Ukraine

The US has imposed sanctions on ten senior managers of the Russian TempBank, including two Deputy Chairmen, the Chairman and four members of the Supervisory Board. The information was published on Friday, December 23th, on the web site of the U.S. Department of Treasury.

Sanction were also imposed on the top management of Technolab company, which is registered in Lebanon.

Washington also imposed restrictive measures on several Syrian government officials: the Minster of Finance, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the Minister of Telecommunication and Technology, the Syrian Minister of Industry, the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Telecommunication and Technology and also the Governor of the Central Bank of Syria.

Previously, on Friday, December 23rd, The U.S. Department of Commerce announced that it was putting seven more individuals and 23 Russian companies on the sanction list in connection with Russia’s annexation of the Crimea and Moscow’s policy toward Ukraine.

Among these individuals are the businessmen Aleksandr Prigozhin and senior managers of the Bank Russia, ABR Management and SobinBank.

Among the companies that were placed on the sanctions list are Novatek and its regional branches, Crimean Ports, Crimean  Railway, Transflot and others. The sanctions have also been imposed on ships registered in Russia, Marshal Zhukov and Stalingrad, that are connected with Transflot.

It is expected that the official information regarding these sanctions will be published on December 27th.
