Juncker asserts that the creation of a European army is inevitable

In the long term, the U.S. will refuse to provide European security, which is why it's necessary to seriously consider the creation of a European army, according to the head of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, RIA Novosti reports.

"We need to give a new course to the issue of a European Defense Union up to the creation of a European army. This is the music of the future and it has already sounded but many Europeans are not hearing it yet," Juncker said, but also added that the EU countries owe a lot to Washington.

In September, France and Germany submitted a plan to create a joint military force which would compete with NATO's military capabilities. It is expected that the plan will be finalized by June 2017.
