DPR wants to ban Yanukovych and members of the Party of Regions from entering separatist-held territory

The leader of the DPR (Donetsk People's Republic), Alexander Zakharchenko, suggested banning the former president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, and members of his former party, from entering the republic, as he stated during a briefing in Donetsk.

"We are better off without traitors. Although, in fact he is still the president of Ukraine, since he did not surrender his powers and what happened in Kyiv was an illegal seizure of power. Anything that happens in the DPR now does not concern him," Zakharchenko said.

The speaker of the so-called People's Council, Denis Pushilin, who participated in the briefing, added that Viktor Yanukovych could have influenced the situation in Ukraine in 2014, which would have avoided military conflict in the Donbas and the loss of human lives.

Earlier in Kyiv and in the Donetsk region, members of Viktor Yanukavych’s entourage and the former NSDC Secretary, Andriy Klyuyev were subjected to searches by law enforcement.
