German MPs to visit annexed Crimea
Annexed Crimea is expecting a visit from another delegation from Germany with representatives of The Left party and the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, reports RIA Novosti with reference to the deputy chairman of the so-called “parliament” of Crimea’s international relations committee, chairman of the Crimea-Germany national cultural autonomy Yuri Gempel.
“We will be visited by members of the regional parliaments from the Left and Alternative for Germany parties. In addition, from the Alternative for Germany party there will be several MPs from the Bundestag. There will also be German businessmen in the delegation,” Gempel said.
According to him, the delegation will take part in the Yalta International Economic Forum, which will take place between April 19-21.
“Another four people will come from Norway. The German and Norwegian citizens who want to participate in the economic forum are far more than we can accept today,” he added.
Gempel noted that the delegation would contain roughly 20 people.
The last time German MPs visited annexed Crimea was on February 3. The delegation included MPs from the Alternative for Germany party from three regional parliaments: Berlin, Brandenburg and Rhine-Westphalia.
On that occasion the German MPs flew to Crimea from Russia, thereby violating Ukrainian legislation.
