Ukrainian President on possible defeat in elections: if someone is more worthy, I will help them

President Petro Poroshenko stated that he has not yet decided whether to run in the 2019 election. At the same time, Poroshenko promised that if he runs for a second term and loses to a more worthy candidate, he is ready to help them.

 “First of all: I really trust the Ukrainian people. Second: I am confident in its responsible choice. Third: If I decide to run and if it turns out someone is more worthy, I will help them,” said Porosheno said in response to the question of LB.ua about his actions in case of defeat at the elections.

The President separately stressed that the election campaign has not yet begun.

The Verkhovna Rada scheduled the next presidential elections in Ukraine on March 31, 2019.

The election campaign starts in two weeks. President Petro Poroshenko, according to the last polls, is one of the five top-rated candidates.

Previous elections were held May 25, 2014. Poroshenko won the elections with almost 10 million votes (54.7% of the vote).
