Ukrainian Armed Forces test medium-range missiles near Crimea

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have conducted medium-range anti-aircraft missile tests near Oleksandrivka village in Kherson region. The testing ground lies in the southeast area of Ukraine, not far from the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula.

According to the press service of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, over the course of the training, the Ukrainian military fired over 40 shots from Buk-M1, S-300 and Osa antiaircraft missile systems.

The report stated that the exercise involved military formations of the Ukrainian Air and Ground Forces.

The Ukrainian military fired 23 shots from Buk-M1 and S-300 guided missile systems at 11 Tu-134 VR-3 Reis UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) and several other hypothetical targets at predefined aerial coordinates.

Ground forces launched over 20 Osa surface-to-air guided missiles.

Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Drozdov said the goal of the exercise was to practice aerospace defense tactics and techniques.

As earlier reported, the Black Fleet of the Russian Federation conducted a military exercise in the coastal waters of the annexed Crimea.
