Ukraine seizes all the property of ex-Interior Minister Zakharchenko
All movable and immovable property in Ukraine owned by former Minister of Internal Affairs Vitaliy Zakharchenko, as well as funds listed in his name in Ukrainian banks, have been seized as reported by the television channel Pryamoi, citing the press service of the National Police,.
"The arrest has been imposed on all the movable and immovable property of the suspect, [as well as] money located in banking institutions on the territory of Ukraine," the television station quotes the National Police as saying.
It was noted that the relevant decision was taken as part of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine investigation of criminal proceedings on suspicion of Zakharchenko’s involvement in a number of crimes during the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity.
Earlier, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko said that the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine found that the orders to open fire on activists during the Revolution of Dignity were given by then-President Viktor Yanukovych, Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko, and the head of the Security Service, Oleksandr Yakymenko.
