Ukraine introduced sanctions against 18 Russian companies

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, at the request of the Security Service of Ukraine(SBU), imposed sanctions against 18 Russian companies. The corresponding orders No.1582 and 1583 were adopted by the Ministry on October 30th, 24 TV reports.

Sanctions have been imposed on companies "for carrying out activities that could harm the interests of national economic security."

18 Russian companies have fallen under the sanctions: Loli-Pak Exports, the Snack Group, Belgorod Khladokombinat, Donspetsstroy Trading House, Yuzhtrans, Mikas, Stroyservis, Volma-Marketing, the Penetron-Russia group of companies, the Penetron-Russia Trading House, Penetron-Export, Volma -VTR, the waterproofing materials manufacturer Penetron, Aromadon Trading House, the Starfud-Yug Trading House, MK-Metiz, Narodny Plastic, and Miroshnikova Irina Vladimirovna.

According to the documents, the temporary suspension of foreign economic activity in Ukraine for the entities under sanctions will come into effect in 40 days, on December 9, 2017.

On October 27th, Russia extended sanctions against Ukraine and the countries of the West. These restrictions will be in force until the end of 2018.

In turn, Ukraine has proposed to strengthen anti-Russian sanctions in the energy sector.
