Ukraine increases transit of gas to a new record
According to 9 months of records, the transit of gas through the Ukrainian gas transportation system amounted to a record 70.4 billion cubic meters of gas, which is 23.5% more than the volume of transit for the same 9 months last year, as reported by Naftogaz of Ukraine.
As noted, this is the highest level in the last 9 years.
In addition, according to the company, 8.5 billion cubic meters of gas have been pumped into Ukrainian storage facilities, which is 44% more than last year. As of October 2, Ukraine has accumulated 16.4 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage.
“Gas import: from the Russian Federation - zero, from the EU - 10.7 billion cubic meters, which is 70% more than last year for the same period,” the press release said.
According to the report, gas receipts from Ukrainian gas producing companies increased by 2.6% to 15.5 billion cubic meters in 9 months this year.
“Gas consumption has not increased. To be more precise, according to the results of 3 quarters of 2017, there was a decrease in gas consumption by 0.5% compared to 2016,” the press report said.
