Ukraine may purchase Turkish combat drones

Advisor to the Ukrainian President Yury Biryukov published a photo on his Facebook page featuring President Petro Poroshenko standing next to a Turkish Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle, surrounded by Turkish officials.

“I can only assume that Petro Poroshenko and Stepan Poltorak are staying in the company with the first deputy Secretary of NSDC and the head of Ukroboronprom on the background of the [drone] that can work a whole day in offline mode at 150 kilometers from the control center at an altitude of 8 kilometers. It is just a coincidence, yes. Such amazing coincidences pave the way to our victory,” the Ukrainian official writes.

Earlier, Poroshenko visited the production of drones of the Turkish company Baykar Makina where parties discussed possible cooperation between the defense complexes of Ukraine and Turkey. Last summer, the deputy secretary of the Council of National Security and Defense Oleh Hladkovsky held negotiations in Turkey for the possible supply of drones to Kyiv and opening of the joint center of development of machines.

On November 3 and 4, Poroshenko visited Turkey, where he met with the Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan and he signed several documents on trade and economic cooperation.
