Ukraine conducts exercises Storm-2018 on the Black Sea coast
Joint command and staff exercises of the Command of the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Storm-2018 began on the Black Sea coast. During the maneuvers, it is planned to work out actions to repel armed aggression from the maritime direction, reported the press service of the Ukrainian Naval Forces.
“The purpose of the exercises is to practice command of troops during repulsing an armed aggression from the sea. They are aimed at improving the practical skills of commanders,” said the Commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces Igor Voronchenko.
The exercises will be conducted in two stages. The first stage will be marked by developing the control of troops in the course of air defense. The second stage will be aimed at the stabilization of actions during the defense of the Black Sea coast.
Voronchenko said that it is planned to increase the ship grouping, marines and artillery in the Azov direction in the near future for ‘reliable protection of all lines and the peaceful bsiness activity in the Azov Sea’.
