Kremlin promises to announce the date of the meeting between Putin and Trump

The Kremlin would report on the meeting of US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin as soon as they are ready, as stated by the Press Secretary to the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the words of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, that the two leaders would meet in the near future after Trump's advisor John Bolton’s trip to Moscow, TASS reports.

"We'll let you know as soon as we are ready," Peskov said.

In an interview with SNBC TV, Pompeo said that Trump and Putin would meet "in the not too distant future" following Bolton's visit to Russia. "I don't know the schedule of the President. I know that Ambassador Bolton will go to Moscow. On Sunday or Monday he will meet with his counterpart. And I think it’s likely President Trump will be meeting with his counterpart in the not too distant future following that meeting," the Secretary of State said.

John Bolton, Advisor to the US President, will visit Moscow after meeting with the allies of the United States on June 23 to 27. During his visit to Russia, he will discuss the modalities of the upcoming meeting of Putin and Trump. The Kremlin did not rule out that Bolton would meet with Putin in the course of this visit. A meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Bolton is also planned.

In May, Peskov announced that Putin and Trump could hold a meeting after the NATO summit, which will be held on July 11. On Thursday, June 21, Bloomberg and Reuters agencies, citing its sources, reported that Trump was considering the possibility of meeting with Putin in July.
