Sentsov‘s lawyer delivers to Russian authorities his mother's plea for his pardon

The lawyer of the Ukrainian political prisoner Oleh Sentsov, Dmitry Dinze, delivered to the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District territory pardon commission Sentovov mother’s petition to pardon her son, Hromadske  reports with reference to Sentsov's sister Natalia Kaplan.

According to Kaplan, at first, the petition to pardon Sentsov was sent to the Presidential Administration of Russia who did not respond at all, though they promised to consider it.

At the same time, Kaplan doubts the possibility of the political prisoner’s release.

"I cannot say that this will accelerate the process of liberation because they did not react to the previous petition," she said.

The Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada parliament of Ukraine, Lyudmila Denisova appealed to the Russia’s Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova and the Chairman of the Russian Federation Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights, Mikhail Fedotov to discuss any possible conditions for the exchange of the Ukrainian film director and political prisoner, Oleh Sentsov.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Foreign Ministry, Mariana Betsa urged the international community to increase pressure on Russia in order to release the Ukrainian political prisoner. Natalia Kaplan has informed the public about the last letter she received from the imprisoned film director. "The end is near, and it's not about the release," wrote Sentsov.
