Russian TV channels to broadcast election debate between Zelensky and Poroshenko

Several Russian TV channels will broadcast the pre-election debate between the presidential candidates Volodymyr Zelensky and Petro Poroshenko in the evening of April 19.

RBC Ukraine reports, citing the editor-in-chief of the Russian television news network RT (formerly Russia Today), Margarita Simonyan, that the debate will be broadcasted on the RT Russia website with translation to the Russian language.

The press service of the NTV channel informed RBC that they will broadcast election debate on the NTV.ru website, the official TV channel social networks accounts, as well as in the NTV and Segodnya mobile apps.

According to RBC Ukraine, the editor-in-chief of the Dozhd TV channel, Aleksandra Perepelova said that they will broadcast the debate between Poroshenko and Zelensky live on the air with translation to the Russian language.

The pre-election debate between Zelensky and Poroshenko will be held on April 19 in the National Sports Stadium Olympiyskiy in Kyiv. However, the presidential candidates’ teams still have not agreed on the format and regulation of the debates.

The second round of presidential elections in Ukraine will be held on April 21.
