Russian military experts arrive in Venezuela

A group of Russian military experts arrived in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas, reports Interfax. Military experts flew to Venezuela for planned maintenance and repair of military equipment that was delivered earlier as part of military-technical cooperation of the two countries.

Earlier, Flightradar24 air traffic monitoring service reported that Russian Il-62M aircraft landed in Caracas. According to these reports, Antonov An-124 Ruslan aircraft also arrived in Venezuela. Both planes arrived in Venezuela on September 21.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during the talks with Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro in the Kremlin, said that the military cooperation between Moscow and Caracas is going according to the schedule, including the supply of spare parts to Venezuela and the establishment of maintenance centers. In the summer, commenting on reports of Western media about Russian mercenaries, Putin noted that there are no Russian troops in Venezuela.
