Russia conducts another military exercise in Crimea
Russian troops conducted naval military exercises in annexed Crimea, reports Interfax news agency, citing Russian Defense Ministry.
Exercises of marine units of the Black Sea Fleet were held at Opuk firing range near Feodosia.
"More than 3 thousand soldiers, 12 ships and vessels of the fleet, including Admiral Essen frigate, small missile ships Vyshny Volochek, Mirage, Orsk large landing ship, sea minesweepers, about 300 units of military and special equipment, including Bastion, Bal, and Bereg missile systems, Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, BTR-82A Armored Personnel Carrier, as well as 30 aircraft and helicopters of the Southern Military District participated in the military drills," the report said.
According to the press service of Russian Defense Ministry, during the exercise, the Marines carried out loading on board of Orsk landing ship supported by the aircraft, and Marine Corps landed on an unequipped section of the sea coast.
In late August, Russian army held exercises in the Crimea, during which 20 Russian helicopters brought Marines to the Opuk firing range.
