Putin’s rating falls by 15% in two months
In June, the approval rating of the activities of the Russian President Vladimir Putin fell by15% compared to the data for April 2018. This is evidenced by the results of the poll conducted by the Russian Levada Center on June 22 to 26 this year.
According to sociologists, the peak of Putin’s popularity was in March 2018 when he had an 80% approval rating. Since then, there has been a decline in approval ratings in general, including those for leadership activities since March, general assessment of the situation in the country, the Russian government’s activities and the Prime Minister.
Assessments of the current economic situation in the Russian Federation also continue to decline. "10% of respondents are waiting for improvements; 38% are waiting for the situation to worsen; 50% believe that the situation will remain the same. 56% of respondents are concerned about their future while 41% are calm or optimistic,” sociologists noted.
The poll was conducted among 1,600 people using a representative sample of adults of the urban and rural population in 136 localities in 52 subjects of the Russian Federation by face-to-face interview.
