Putin invites Trump to Moscow
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he is ready to meet with Donald Trump both in Washington and in Moscow. The Russian side has already invited the American leader to Moscow, said Putin at a press conference in Johannesburg, at the press conference after the BRICS summit.
“We are ready to invite President Trump to Moscow. By the way, he already has received an invitation from us. I told him so. I am ready to go to Washington if appropriate conditions will be established for work,” Putin said.
Putin noted that just like him, Trump has a desire to meet again. “It is important to establish appropriate conditions in our countries,” said the Russian President.
In addition, Putin said that he will communicate with the US leader at different international events, in particular, at the G20 summit.
Referring to the announcement of the White House, Reuters reports that President Donald Trump is willing to visit Moscow.
“President Trump looks forward to having President Putin to Washington after the first of the year, and he is open to visiting Moscow upon receiving a formal invitation,” said the spokeswoman of the White House Sarah Sanders.
As reported, after the two leaders met in Helsinki, Trump instructed national security adviser John Bolton to invite President Putin to Washington in fall. Later, Bolton clarified that the two presidents’ next summit will not be held until 2019.
