Verkovna Rada Chairman: Every dollar invested in Ukraine saves thousands
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy noted that the Ukrainian soldiers who are restraining Russia’s aggression protect not only Ukraine but the entire free world.
He stated this on Saturday during a visit to Turkey at a meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the press service of the parliament reported.
According Parubiy, “Every dollar invested in the development of Ukraine is saving thousands which are necessary to deter the Russian Federation on the eastern borders of the alliance. Russian aggression is much wider than just the military aggression, which constitutes only a part of the plans that Russia has for Ukraine. Informational war, energy war, the imbalances in the country – all these are the aspects of the hybrid war pursued by Russia, trying to regain control not only over Ukraine. We are firmly convinced that Ukraine is very important, but it is not the last one. Ukraine deters all these offensive and aggressive intentions directed at the world overall.”
Parubiy thanked all the members of NATO, which clearly and firmly stands on the position of maintaining the sanctions against the Russian Federation.
He said the sanctions are one of the effective aspects of the deterrence of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s aggression.
“I am convinced that the sanctions will continue until the aggression is stopped, parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions are freed, and the Crimea is freed. And this issue is very important for us. We shouldn’t forget about this, about the occupied Crimea, when we are conducting discussions about the restoration of our sovereignty, so that all members of the alliance remember the decision of the Bucharest summit, that Ukraine will join NATO,” the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada said.
Parubiy is convinced that “The decision of the Bucharest summit in 2008 is in force, and very shortly our flag will be raised near the NATO headquarters.”
