Biden stressed that Ukrainian leaders implement the recommendations of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and work with the international community "to continue economic progress in Ukraine.”
The United States can give Ukraine $300 million for the security development. This was stated by US Vice-President, Joseph Biden, in Kiev.
According to Biden, the U.S. Congress is working to pass such law. "It hasn`t been passed, but I hope that soon, it will be adopted,” he said during the joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, in Kiev on Monday.
Ukrainian authorities need to work together to make reform in Ukraine, Biden said.
He noted that he is well aware, working in the government for 27 years, of how difficult cooperation is to achieve between branches of government. Biden said that history will be a very tough judge, if the reforms in Ukraine fail.
According to Biden it is necessary to justify the sacrifices that have been made two years ago at the Maidan. He said that the expectations of the Ukrainian people after the Orange Revolution were not fulfilled due to corruption and institutional weakness in the state. "Today I visited the Maidan and bowed to the "Heavenly hundred.” The hope of Ukrainians are at the highest level,” the US Vice-President concluded
