Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office summons Russian-Crimean authorities
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has summoned the prosecutor of Russian-controlled Crimea, Natalia Poklonskaya, the head of the Russian government of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, and other representatives of the current Crimean government for questioning.
The relevant notices were published in the newspaper of the Ukrainian government, the Uryadovy Courier. According to the subpoenas, the interrogation is scheduled for the 29th of June.
The subpoenas also ordered them to appear before the senior investigator in the police department of the General Prosecutor of Ukraine, A. Atamanchuk. They will be questioned in connection with their involvement in criminal actions aimed at the overthrowing of the constitutional order and the seizure of state power.
Poklonskaya and Aksyonov are also charged with “terrorism, seizure of state institutions, seizure of public buildings or structures and interference with the activities of an employees of a law enforcement agency”.
The following politicians were also summoned for questioning: the Minister of Internal Affairs of Crimea, Sergey Abisov; the former head of the Security Service Of Ukraine in Sevastopol, Peter Zima; the speaker of the Crimean Parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov; the current head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Sergey Shakhov, and Alexey Chaly, who is the former head, and the current deputy, of the Parliament of Sevastopol.
There have been no reported reactions from the defendants as yet.
