Ukrainian Intelligence: Separatists sought to blow up railway between Severodonetsk and Popasna

In the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, employees of the Security Services of Ukraine (SSU), together with Ukrainian military, border guards and police, found two stores with a large number of munitions.

As reported by the press center of the SSU, on the outskirts of Popasna in the Luhansk region, law enforcement officers found a cache under a private house.

Security forces seized an anti-tank mine ТМ-62 with fuses, a high-explosive tank shell, a 200-gram TNT block and nearly two hundred Kalashnikov rifle rounds with Russian markings in a cache.

According to the information provided by the special services, the cache was intended for a subversive group of the so-called LPR, which was planning to blow up the Severodonetsk – Popasna railway.

In Bakhmut, Donetsk region, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine found a store in an abandoned house where nineteen F-1 grenades, RGD-5 hand-grenades with fuses, and nearly four hundred Makarov pistol rounds were seized.

In both cases, criminal proceedings under article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have been initiated.
