Ukraine reported the increased presence of Russian military in the Crimea

At an event dedicated to issues regarding the militarization of the Crimean peninsula, the permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, Volodymyr Yelchenko, stated that Ukraine is concerned about the increased presence of Russian military in the territory of the Crimea. The event took place at the United Nations headquarters in New York and was organized by Ukraine’s Mission to the United Nations.

“It is about an enormous number of weapons and military personnel that are currently deploying to the territory of the Crimea. Today, a significant number of these military resources are used in Syrian operations. That is why the problem goes far beyond Ukraine or the Black Sea region,” Yelchenko stated.

According to Yelchenko, this information was provided by Ukrainian servicemen and Intelligence Services. As the diplomat emphasized, these data are also available for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Ukraine’s Mission to the United Nations intends to continue to inform the international community about the events that are truly taking place in the Crimea, the UN press service reported.
