Ukraine began to receive Azerbaijani oil
In late December, the Kremenchuk Oil Refinery Ukrtatnafta received its first cargo of Azeri Light crude oil with a volume of 80 thousand tons, according to its website. “In general, Ukrtatnafta plans to receive a total 1.3 million tons of oil in 2017,” the report stated.
According to Interfax-Ukraine, the first cargo of Azeri Light crude was received by transshipment in Odessa via railway transport. After replacing Urals oil with Azeri Light in the Odessa-Kremenchuk oil pipeline, the raw oil will be supplied to the plant through an UkrTransNafta oil pipeline. The Socar State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic is the oil supplier.
“Since last October, Socar has been supplying Iranian gas condensate to Ukrtatnafta. In 2016, Ukrtatnafta increased its oil refining capacity by 11% due to the implementation of common project of diversification of supplies of energy resources. Furthermore, the preliminary plans of the company suggested the increase of oil refining by more than 41%,” the press service of the enterprise noted.
According to the Kremenchuk Oil Refinery, Ukrtatnafta plans to make a complete transition to production of Euro-5 high-quality fuel due to supplies of low-sulfur raw to enterprise and use of new technologies. Naftogaz of Ukraine owns 43.05% of Ukrtatnafta. The Privat group and Ukrainian businessman Oleksandr Yaroslavsky own 28% each.
