Ukraine and the US to sign agreements on military-technical cooperation
The President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, announced the signing of agreements on defense purchases and the military-technical cooperation between Ukraine and the US in the near future, as he stated during a press conference in Washington.
“For 36 hours, meetings have been held with key players in the new US Presidential Administration. There was a very long conversation with the President, where two important things were noted, the support of the United States for Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence and their support in countering Russian aggression,” he said.
Poroshenko stressed that specific plans were discussed to ensure the preservation and strengthening of US sanctions against the Russian Federation until the Minsk Agreements are fully implemented.
“In addition, during negotiations at the Pentagon, an agreement was reached that several key members of the new administration, and several cabinet members, would visit Ukraine, and very important agreements would be signed, including one on defense cooperation and an agreement on defense purchases and military-technical cooperation,” the President of Ukraine said.
