Ukraine and NATO held joint seminar on defense industry reform

For the first time Ukraine and NATO held a joint seminar on defense industry reform, during which the transformation of the domestic military-industrial complex and the possibility of Ukraine's cooperation with the Alliance were discussed, as reported by the press service for Ukroboronprom.

The seminar was held on June 1st at the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy. The event was attended by the members of the NATO International Staff, representatives of Ukroboronprom, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and local authorities.

"The level of representation of foreign states and companies from Europe and America in today's forum will give the correct, high-quality and effective impetus needed for the transformation of the defense industry - namely, the reform of the military-industrial complex. This is an urgent need today," the press service reported, quoting the Deputy Director General of Ukroboronprom for Foreign Economic Activity, Denis Gurak.

The main topics of the seminar were the methods of interaction between the companies of the military-industrial complex of the NATO member countries, national defense ministries and other government bodies, as well as the implementation of appropriate standards in the production of military equipment in Ukraine.
